Observed on Purnima (full moon), Deva Snana Purnima is a ritualistic bathing ceremony of Lord Jagannath, Devi Subhadra and Lord Balabhadra. The idols are taken out from the ‘Ratnasimhasan’ and after ‘Mangala Aalati’, the deities are taken to the ‘snana bedi’. After bath, the deities are dressed up in ‘Hathi Besha’ or the form of Lord Ganesha and at night, they retire to the Ansar house.
